Goat yoga has gained considerable popularity in recent years, and this trend is supported by several compelling benefits. This innovative form of yoga blends traditional poses with the engaging presence of goats. Here are some advantages associated with goat yoga:

1. **Stress Relief**: Engaging with animals, such as goats, has been shown to alleviate stress and encourage relaxation. The gentle, funny demeanor of these creatures contributes to a calming and tranquil atmosphere. Their little noises and nose nudges can't help but make a yogi smile.

2. **Physical Fitness**: Goat yoga incorporates a variety of poses and movements that activate multiple muscle groups. This enjoyable practice provides a fun approach to enhancing strength, flexibility, and balance.

3. **Connection with Nature**: Practicing yoga outdoors amidst natural surroundings and animals can significantly enrich the experience. It fosters a connection with the environment and encourages appreciation of the beauty that nature offers.

4. **Laughter and Joy**: Goats are renowned for their playful behavior, often bringing joy and laughter to participants. This interaction can enhance mood and promote a greater sense of happiness during sessions.

**The Benefits of Animal Therapy**

In addition to yoga, animal therapy presents another exceptional opportunity to benefit from animal interactions. Below are some key advantages of animal therapy:

2. **Physical Health**: Interaction with animals can also provide various physical health benefits, including lowered blood pressure, reduced risk of heart disease, and improved immune system functionality.

**FAQs:**

- Will the goats jump on me?

It's always possible, but more than likely they will walk under you or over your legs as you practice. They really have no boundaries when it comes to interaction, especially when we sprinkle some treats on your mat.

- Do They Bite?

We suggest that yogis do not wear dangly earrings or jewelry. They will nibble. However, they do not have top teeth, so they cannot take a true "bite". They're much more interested in nibbling on hay, treats, or maybe a shoelace here and there.

-Can I pet the goats?

YES! We want you to pet them, hug them, feed them, and nuzzle them. They are such sweet, lovable animals and our yogis often comment that the goats are much more like dogs with their funny personalities.

- Do goats relieve themselves during yoga sessions?

Unlike humans, goats cannot control their bladders or bowels, so it's always possible that they relieve themselves during class. The good news it that it's a quick and easy clean up and will cause no interruption to class. So far, we haven't had a goat do this on a yogi...just in the nearby vicinity.

-Is goat yoga expensive?

We usually charge $25/person for goat yoga; however, if you have a larger group, we are more than happy to work with you to accommodate your needs and budget. Just email theomsteadllc@gmail.com and we can get started today!
